In many instances robots or other automated equipment can increase productivity, efficiency, quality, and consistency of products. All of the previous stated benefits are also accomplished with increased worker safety. Mundane/repeated tasks are often the most likely to cause worker injuries. Luckily, robots and automated equipment never suffer from boredom. Oftentimes robotics can increase speed, consistency, safety, and productivity.

This is a 6-Axis robot cell that we built for a customer that needed to place formed and combined trays into their existing automated bundler. The Fanuc LR Mate 200iD picks the trays from the infeed conveyor. The product stops on the conveyor create a gap to eliminate dimensional tolerance concerns on the formed and combined trays. The small footprint required the robot to be inverted/ceiling mounted to fit within the space constraints while still providing the necessary reach. This video shows our in-house testing.
